Moats' Characters

Name: Master Sergeant Henrietta "Henry" Hadley

Age: 19

Faceclaim: Britney Young

Pronouns: They / them, she / her

About:

They're fascinated with what time used to be like. Certainly, they don't remember. All they've ever known is sky. Colonel Charles Hadley flew out to the sky long before Henrietta was born. He'd come down to see their mother, Annabelle, then fly off again. Sometimes, he brought Annabelle to the sky. Sometimes he didn't. Henry is told they were born high in the sky, above the cities, a place the fog could not reach them.

Since they were young, they were always trying to help with their dad's ship, fixing it up, learning what his crew had to offer. They were wrapped up in the idea that they were going to be special. They were going to fly a plane, be on the team. Of course, folks had it out for Colonel Hadley.

When Henry was on fifteen and on their first fly, a member of the Colonel's crew turned them over to a group of raiders, killing most of those involved. Henry, in the one smallest planes, was able to get away unscathed, flying until they were forced to make a landing near the Lion's Den, where they met Monty. After some convincing, they got on the Lion's, determined to make it with the best, not wasting the time or brain on what had happened with the rogue raiders.

Henry is youthful, quick to crack jomes and laugh. However, they are also power hungry, wanting to rise up to any challenge, higher and better than they were before. Henry wants to be the youngest Colonel yet, by any means necessary.

Name: Adelaide Danson-Plum

Age: 35

Faceclaim: ---

Pronouns: She / her

About:

Adelaide is a plump woman, with long chestnut hair and grey eyes. She has olive skin and small hands.

Adelaide married Ezra quite young, in a way most of her Parrish might describe as... Shotgun-esque. But 7 month later their beautiful baby girl was born, which Adelaide thought was worth it.

Ezra on the other hand, did not care. They had a whirlwind romance at first, quick and eager to be in love but Ezra did not know what to do with a wife or a baby. He was still caught in trying to be a college boy. He had a brief military career, wanted to be one of those fliers, but when he was medically discharged it all ended.

When Ezra came home he was a changed man. He had always been a bit of a drinker but when he returned home, he doubled down. He would yell at Adelaide and hurt her, but she didn't really care. Then he lost all their money, and nearly lost their land. She could live through that.

But when he threatened their daughter, she killed him

She and her daughter decided it was time to start new. She wad a business woman of sorts and she had a large amount of land. Even after selling parts to pay off Ezra's debts, her parents had bequeathed onto her a sizable chunk. She planted seeds in the ground, watered them and let them grow. Soon she and her 10 year old, Jewel, had a harvest, and another. She began trading and selling with the very plane people who'd bothered Ezra so. Vindication of sort. Occasionally, if she feels she needs to make a good sale, she'll put on Ezra's old clothes and pretend to be him.

Adelaide is a protective mother. Her daughter comes before herself, although sometimes that looks strange. She's kind enough to work with but she has been known to hurt people who threaten those she loves. And she loves deeply; not quickly, but deeply and profoundly.
